Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars one who was able to fully transition from the country music scene to becoming an enduring pop culture icon and conquering the world in the process. Swift has shed her country roots as if she was shedding skins for second purposes revealing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter of her time. She is able to harness the current zeitgeist and turn it into her personal. The first songs she released like the Neotribute in tribute to Tim McGraw were a testament to her talents. The second album Fearless in 2008 showcased the songwriter finding her voice as well as a broader public. The album was a huge success, not just on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and the hit song You Belong with Me were the most important reasons. However, it did well all over the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this success and moved Swift towards the top of superstardom. Her popularity only increased with her following three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017) and saw her move confidently into a realm of pop music that she had already been a part of. It was not long before she changed her strategy in 2020's more streamlined siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed in the forefront of pop culture.
